Selected Response Questions

Selected response item types provide students with multiple possible answers and require them to select the correct one. Selected response questions include multiple choice, matching, and true/false and are typically harder to write but easier to score. Examples of selected response questions include matching, multiple-choice, true-false, and more.

A multiple-choice question has a stem (the question), distractors (incorrect answers) and a correct answer.
